Wooden Construction - Ecological Solutions

The project implemented by GLP, in cooperation with general contractor CFE Poland, uses wood on a large scale as a construction material. The 38,000-square-meter building is the largest logistics facility in Poland, using as much as 1,900 cubic meters of wood.

It is worth noting that the wooden structure of the hall has an impressive span of 24 meters, and the longest elements delivered to the construction site are more than 31 meters long. The use of wood also reduces the built-in carbon footprint - from 318 to 270 kg CO2e/sqm.

Green GLP and ESG Targets

As Christophe Brzezinski, head of Technical Development at GLP Poland, points out, the project in Stary Konik is the first of its kind in Poland, in line with the ESG goals, as well as the company's drive to realize zero-emission buildings. GLP focuses on natural materials, efficient resource management and alternative power sources, which benefits both tenants and the environment. An important element of the project is also the possibility of dismantling and changing the function of the building in the future, which fits in with the principles of a circular economy.

Completion of the GLP Warsaw VI Logistics Centre in Stary Konik is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.

Innovation and Ecology in the Warehouse Industry

The wooden construction of GLP Warsaw VI is an example of an innovative approach in the warehouse sector. The use of environmentally friendly materials may increase interest in similar solutions in the future.
