In the third quarter of 2024, Panattoni BTS together with Panattoni Emerging Markets will begin the development of a project in the eastern part of Szczecin. The developer is to deliver a BTS building with 51,500 sqm of industrial space and 2,870 sqm of offices. The Northwest of Poland may be served from this location as well as the Berlin region. The distribution centre will be completed in mid-2025.
“The regularity with which Panattoni develops extremely ambitious projects of strategic importance is proof that international companies looking to grow in the region find us to be a reliable partner for the delivery of BTS space. In this instance, the synergy between Panattoni BTS and Panattoni Emerging Markets also played an important role, allowing us to perfectly meet the expectations of the client”, says Marek Foryński, the Managing Director of Panattoni BTS.
“Assets such as the nearby motorway, the pro-business attitude of the authorities and Szczecin’s strategic location near the German border and the port in Świnoujście attract investors to the city. Our development, which we are preparing together with Panattoni BTS takes full advantage of these advantages. The distribution centre is to have excellent connections. The centre will have access to modern roads serving both the markets in Poland and in Germany as well as an SKM rail link to the centre of Szczecin, which is of particular importance for workers”, says Dorota Jagodzińska-Sasson, the Managing Director of Panattoni and she adds “The centre will be developed to the highest standards of sustainable construction and is to be certified under BREEAM for a rating of Outstanding”.
The developer is to reinforce the roof of the building and equip it with a solar panelling installation with a capacity of 1 MWp while the building is to be heated ecologically with heat pumps. Among other installations, a greywater system is to be used to save resources. Workers will also have access to cycling facilities (shelters for 48 bicycles) and 20 electric vehicle charging stations.
